It is my belief that my intension has to be rooted in my purpose, in my passion and in what feels good to me so that I will be possible to enjoy a truly meaningful life. It is my great fortune that I have already found the most fascinating area to me that I would like to devote my whole life to study on it, which is the computer science major.

Since I was a little boy, I preferred to analyze questions with logical thinking. When I got the desired score in exams but my mom didn’t buy me the gift that she had promised before, I would tell her mom you have made a promise and you should keep it. However, such story happened many times and the same conversation between us occurred frequently. Now looking back the funny moment of life, I know such phenomena can be explained by the theory of syllogism. When I became a high school student, I realized more charm of subjects such as biology, physics, and chemistry. I began to apply linear thinking and parallel thinking to solve problems. I always thought questions about adding some solutes to a breaker and what would be the order of reactants reacted to form the secondary and tertiary products, what would be the effects of gas and precipitation on the overall reaction. At first glance, these problems are complicated, but the whole process is traceable since every question was consisted of points to lines. This kind of mediation obsessed me and I enjoyed the process of finding answers in a creative and logic way.

In my senior grade, I felt the urge and need to explore my future career direction. Hence, I bought two books named Chemical Guides and Computer Overviews. I thought I would gain more aspirations about majoring in Chemistry, however, I was attracted by computer science since I found that my way of thinking fits well to the concepts of computer science. Like the requirements of efficiency and order in computer science, I usually like to shape a conceptual community from one point to many points. Especially, when facing some complicated and confusing problems, I like to establish a Tree Data Structure of Computer Science to place each point of the question, through which I would find simple and clear solution quickly. When I learned the new definition of the Olympic Math, I felt that the computer instructions were very interesting as it can make things very simple. I could make a program with a simple instruction and several ordered elements. When dealing with a small number of problems, such as finding a specific number in a short series, the human brain can do this quickly with its chemical and electrical signals; but for millions of workloads, only computer can quickly complete tasks with its superb computing power and a similar binary search. I really like the sense of all things follow a sequence in the computer that I dream to dig more in this area.

One of my long-lasting habits is that I like to meticulously organize my clothes, studying materials and sundries according to their categories. Having been the director of our music club, I have organized several mega parties of the school, through which I played my strengthens of logic and organization. Arranging the most important part of the party such as players and show theme, and then filling details according to the fixed skeleton including stage design, lighting and clothing. Each part of the performance was calculated precisely that no accident happened. It was my strong logic thinking ability helping me achieve success in all the activities.

I believe that both my mindset and character make me a perfect fit for computer science major. I’m interested in it and I can be a promising researcher in this area. I sincerely hope to enter your university to conduct more in-depth study of computer science.
