AbstractThe face of Organizations has changed drastically within the last few decades

Abstract:The face of Organizations has changed drastically within the last few decades. An organization is defined as “collective of individuals gathered together to serve a particular purpose” (Netting, Kettner, McMurtry, & Thomas, 2017). Knowledge of an organization refers to the ways they engage with the external environment with familiarity or awareness. This information is gained through data, online reports, the organization’s website, as well as the organization’s social media platform. This paper conducts an examination of different arenas regarding the relevance that the external environment has in this particular organization of Agency for Community Treatment Services, Inc (ACTS). Impact of the Website and Social MediaThe progression of Social Media within any given organization, be it in the issuance of services to clients, is the most thought-provoking element in business. Businesses have relied on things such as word of mouth, advertisement through radio or tv, newspapers and fliers to draw attention from consumers. As of today, organizational sites and social media has been the most effective in promoting. The content viewed by the consumer and their interests is what is going to drive attention and benefit the organization. For Example, ACTS Mission states the following “To apply the best contemporary physical and behavioral health interventions and social support services available to assist individuals and families to engage and succeed in recovery.” In this mission statement, the organization identifies what needs to be accomplished. Being able to identify what is wanted, the services provided, and how to achieve the mission/goal is thought to be a very useful impact. Clients affiliated to any business appreciate performance by providing services; thus, an organization’s excellence and performance is valued by its capability to harness and improve the Organizations website and Social Media to aid in the continuous learning of employees, clients, and founders. StakeholdersWhat is a stakeholder? A stakeholder can be defined as anyone with an interest in a company and/or business. One of the driving forces behind stakeholders is individuals and groups that are affected by how the organizations are run. Stakeholders are divided into two different positions, Internal and External. Internal Stakeholders for ACTS are made up of the Owner, Employees, and the Managers. External Stakeholders for ACTS are made up of The Government, The Local Communities/Clients, and lastly the Partners, those that assist the organization as an additional resource. I have evaluated the Organization’s website on what they present on the stakeholders say about both difference and diversity. One of the stakeholders I have evaluated is the employees, as an internal stakeholder of ACTS. The employees are part of the organization, persons hired to complete specific task and duties within ACTS that they carry out each day. Employees are an important part of ACTS as they are one of the main driving forces of the company. ACTS staff consists of a diverse group of people, such as Medical Director, a consulting psychiatrist, physical health doctors, therapists, case managers, nurses and behavioral health technicians (Agency for Community Treatment Services (ACTS)). ACTS employees are aware of the diverse groups of people and populations served, which all attain special therapeutic considerations. The program is ensuring these different individuals receive age-appropriate treatment with having individual therapy, group therapy, recreational therapy, and medication management. The ACTS program is divided separately between the adults and adolescent age groups.Another one of the stakeholders evaluated i the local communities/clients. The local communities/clients contribute to the organization by utilizing the services provided or offered by ACTS. The local communities/clients want ACTS to provide high -quality service while ensuring patients feel safe, comfortable and welcomed while in the environment. ACTS makes sure to provide these populations by offering different services such as Crisis Care, Youth Residential, Adult Residential, Outpatient Services, Housing, Screenings, Acute Care & Court Liaison Services, Jail Diversion Program/Pre -Arrest Intercept Program (PIP), and Tampa Family Health Center to name a few. The local communities/clients demand the high -quality services of ACTS to better themselves, see improvements that would provide them with even better and more services. Organizations like Agency for Community Treatment Services, Inc (ACTS) know that they can’t achieve their mission/goals alone, which is why stakeholders are an important factor in the presence of being diverse. ACTS work with each of their stakeholders to make sure they use their scale and expertise to contribute to the society, especially its local communities, also a way of being informed on the Organization’s performance and what can be improved. Most importantly, ACTS understand that behavioral health treatment is not something that fits “one size”, the staff works with both the client as well as their families in order to work toward the greatest outcome.Implications of Engagement in an OrganizationEmpowerment is one of the implications of this assessment when an organization such as Agency for Community Treatment Services, Inc (ACTS) is thinking about engagement. Empowerment in an organization is the process of enabling and/or authorizing an individual to think, behave, take action, control work and decision-making in autonomous ways. The opportunity of feeling self-empowered to take control and exercise personal discretion and complete meaningful work is an important element contributing to both an employee’s and client’s engagement and well-being of one’s own destiny. In an organization, empowerment is the redistribution of power and decision-making responsibilities. Appropriate organizational structures and policies are needed to foster an organizational culture that promotes participation in decision-making among all or most of its members (Hardina, 2005). Although ACTS presents a diverse organization, it can implement one of the ten attributes associated with empowerment-oriented organizations. The third attribute being, explicitly develops policies and procedures that can be used to bridge cultural, ethnic, gender, and other demographic barriers to effective service delivery. “Cultural and social activities designed to maintain the organization and sustain participation should be culturally appropriate and inclusive. Efforts should also be made to identify common issues that are of sufficient saliency that they can be utilized to unite members in collective action (Hardina, 2005). Empowerment is a journey that is never-ending as clients learn more about the organizations, they will feel more comfortable entrusting the employees with decisions and letting go; employees will then feel more comfortable with their clients assuming greater responsibility. Clients will be more satisfied; employees will be more well-rounded, founders/board of directors would be able to focus on greater issues. “In order to provide real opportunities for participation, organizations must create formal structures that will foster participation among both clientele and staff members. Such structures can include designated seats on boards of directors for clients, the creation of task groups that provide vehicles for clients and staff to engage in program planning and evaluation, and job descriptions that assign decision-making responsibilities to staff in all levels of the organization” (Hardina, 2005). Having different levels to an organization, empowerment will be a challenge. However, the barriers of responsibility provide freedom; individuals are encouraged to work and think of a bigger capacity. Empowerment provides moral, burnout is reduced for the employees, responsibility is shared, and clients appreciate the organization full of value, joy, and power.
